Bruce's Tire, Inc.

In 1936, Bruce Alexander began selling used tires on MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland, California. Over a period of time, Bruce expanded into the business of recapping tires, which was a standard for the automotive industry of the time. Eventually, Bruce's recaps became a phenomenon and gained international notoriety. The slogan of the time was "Bite by Bruce's", which described the quality of the tread offered to the customer.

In the early 1980's, Dick and Kathy Howard acquired Bruce's Tire locations in San Jose and Oakland. During the next few years, Bruce's Tire expanded to Fremont, Salinas, Los Banos (Howard Tire) and Gilroy in 2007 in order to offer customers the same excellent service. Presently, as fourth generation tire dealers, Richard Howard and his brother Dwain operate the

Ryan Larson - Oakland Manager

Arriving from the retail grocery field, Ryan manages the first established Bruce's Tire location in Oakland. Ryan started his career with Bruce's Tire since 1998.

Bob Lance - Fremont Manager

Bob Lance began working at Bruce's Tire in 1976 and has worked at several of our stores. His knowledge and vast expertise in the automotive field has helped make Bob a great trainer and valuable Fremont store manager.

Mike Estes - San Jose Manager

Starting with Bruce's Tire seven years ago, Mike manages one of the original Bruce's Tire locations. Mike brings to Bruce's Tire 38 years experience in the automotive industry.

Adrian Alvarado - Gilroy Manager

Adrian has been in the tire and automotive industry for over 14 years. Since joining Bruce's Tire in 1999 he has gained valuable experience at every position in the shop. We are proud to have him manage our newest store.

Mike Weightman - Los Banos Manager

Mike comes from an extensive tire and automotive background with more than 15 years experience. Mike has been employed at Bruce's Tire for over 10 years, and has managed Howard Tire since 2006.

Robert Weaver - Salinas Manager

Robert has been with Bruce's Tire since 1999. Robert has an extensive background in the automotive industry dating back to 1983.

1959		First and only tire company to receive Motor Trend Seal of Approval.
1961		Over 1 Million miles run on Bruce's retreads on California Highway Patrol test track without a single failure.
